It’s a music quote! This is one of my favorite songs, afterall…
Tough people pull themselves up by the bootstraps
When they hit hard luck
And they stay strong and they keep on fightin’
Like they don’t know how to lose
Tough times don’t last
Tough people do

This week’s quote seems to be very appropriate for the current times. With the election coming to a near, news of religious intoleration, and man’s use of religion to justify our irrational and irresponsible behavior, perhaps we need to be reminded of Gandhi’s quote…for our sake and those around us. Is your heart full of prejudices?
“When human heart is closed you can’t catch the human head. There’s no use reasoning with a person whose heart is full of prejudices”

New dental links 🙂 I’ve received emails asking for help on what certain posts are good for. Honestly, you can engage patients or post promos on just about anything. However, I’ve written little remarks after each article on what you can do with them. They’ll be mark with *special*. All can be used for patient engagement, but I will also try to include a variety of promos you can use with them. Happy posting!
- Study Gives Teeth to Link Between Oral Health and Overall Health – *hygiene special*
- Duck-billed Dinosaurs had more than a thousand complex teeth – *patient engagement, especially children – story/drawing contest*
- Why Doesn’t Health Insurance Include Dentistry? – *new patient special*
- Gum Disease Linked to Increase Risk of Pancreatic Cancer – *hygiene special*
- Periodontitis Linked to Psoriaris – *hygiene special*
- Almost Half of US Adults Have Gum Disease – previous studies have cited up to 80% of Americans have gum disease; *new patient special*
- Money Where Your Mouth Is: 6 Tips to Save – *dental health gift bag promo*
- A Big Lesson on Oral Health – article on a new oral health exhibit at the Sedgwick County Science and Discovery Center; *use to promote your own “lesson on oral health” event*
- Two-foot Dinosaur teeth like vampire found in South Africa – *cosmetic special*
- If the eyes are a window to the soul, is your mouth a window to your body? – discusses link with overall health (this title is catchier than the first article); *use to promote an event (community festival, health event) for new patients*
- Chewing Ability Linked with Cognitive Impairment Risk – *prosthodontic special*
- Christie Brinkley hosts 2012 Smile Train World Smile Day – *whitening special*
VistaPrint Deal

Tags: business, business card, Groupon, print, Products, Publishing and Printing, Shopping, vistaprint
Groupon is offering another VistaPrint deal, $17 for $70 of custom printing. VistaPrint often offers free products to their customers, but they don’t always offer free customization. This is a great deal for all your customized printing needs. You can buy one for yourself and give one as a gift. Pair up with a fellow business owner, buy one for you and another for him/her 😉 The offer must be used by Jan 2 though, but there are so many products you can use it for. Below are some ideas on how to use the deal before its expiration date:
- Flyers – holiday specials
- Postcards – holiday specials
- Gift certificates
- Holiday cards
- Thank you cards
- Brochures
- Product labels
- Business checks
- Business cards – design for Loyalty cards or Gift cards
- Necessities – letterhead, business cards, appointment cards, etc.
Happy Savings!!

Like most business owners, dentists are busy. You should be doing dentistry, not finding things to post for your patients. Therefore, to make the lives of my main clients (dentists) a bit easier, I’ll be posting links on dentistry. Feel free to post them on your social media pages. Engage your patients with them, post a special with them, create a PR event with them. My suggestion is to post and/or engage once a week, minimum.
- Stop Zombie Mouth ADA Program
- Study Links Oral Health to Pancreatic Cancer
- USS Peleliu Dental Staff Promotes Oral Health
- Maine Kids’ Dental Care Rule Change
- Child Health Day 2012
- White House Press Release for Child Health Day 2012
- Teeth Whitening for X Factor Contestants
- NJ DMV says No Smiling 😦
- Hero Dentists Make House Calls
- West Virginia Incentives for Dental Grads
Happy posting! Here’s to a prosperous holiday season of helping others!
